Hi all,

I'm thinking of selling my '50s Fender Deluxe 8. It's been refinished in the past in some kind of dark brown paint, but the chrome is great and it sounds fabulous.

I can get it refinished in the correct period "blond", but is it worth it or should I sell as-is?

Ian

I would try a sale as is and see what happens before going to the expense of refinishing.

Depending on the quality of the current paint job, it might not be worthwhile to refinish it yourself. Have the buyer do the job if they want it done. I doubt there would be much of a difference in price between your already refinished guitar and a newly refinished guitar, UNLESS the current refinish is ugly enough to affect the resale value.

Show us some pictures of the guitar and we can give you a better idea.
