Here is a shift maybe for non pedal Lap Steel Guitar
using my E Nine Six tuning. This past hit of Merle
Haggart fits the bill perfectly to demonstrate this
style of picking. It utilizes the thumb under the
melody line but offers a different "lilt" as compared to the traditional Travis/Atkins style.
I would compare it to a lead guitar sound.
In any event I send it out to my friend Andy Sandoval who is a Bakersfeild resident which is
the Hags home Town.

For those who cannot open this I will try to get an alternate link up a little later.
Many Thanks and hope this is of interest to
aspiring solo steel guitarists.

That is real nice, Roy. I will have to try and learn that thumb style pickin" There was a forum member who was an advocate of thumb style playing, but I can not recall his name Maybe someone can recall who that was! |

Gary that was probably Bobbe Seymour...He is the
ultimate. Do a search for "Steel Guitar Nashville"
and check out his Thumb Style course. He is the
one who is responsible for me spending so much of
my time on this silly stuff.
