The show, Artists, is part of a new weekly program - PBS Presents - which starts off this Thursday at 8:30, Hawaii times.

The various segments are about 10 mins. each, and Bobby will be the first subject in the first episode, which will include 3 other artists.
He plays and talks, and told me he was quite happy with it.

Very cool ... is that just over there? I'm not seeing it in the San Diego line up.

I would imagine it to be national, Tom, but ya'll in the mainland will have to contact your local PBS stations if it doesn't air next week.

It's not. With rare exception, PBS Hawai`i productions are made just for Hawai`i audiences.

There are many years of the incredible PBS series "Na Mele" in the vaults. (The YouTube videos of Jerry Byrd frequently raved about here come from his "Na Mele" performance.) They sometimes put out a "Best Of" DVD, but the shows are not intended to air outside of the 50th state.

Sorry, all.

Altho enjoyable, I was a bit disappointed with the BI segment, as he got to speak only briefly with someone else getting the majority of mouth time. But at least he said what is most important, "play from your heart", which is Bobby's motto these days.
They had him playing thru most of it, essentially Aloha Oe' and variations.
