it's over...the fat lady sang!

i'm impressed only that a prettier body with a lesser voice didn't win.

and not a thank you or even a mention of the 'band'!

This don't really deserve a comment, but the "house" she lives in has nothing to do with her singing or WHO she is as a person. I was offended by your remark. Not all of us are "perfect" on the outside but unless you get to know the person inside the house, you won't know about the inside! Your loss!

Laurie, I don't think Chris meant his comment to be taken that way. I think he was commenting on how the music biz has degraded to such a shallow level, that it's seldom that someone with actual talent that doesn't fit the typical sexist mode today comes out on top. I believe his comment was supposed to be taken as positive and congratulatory.

Michael: You may be right. But "Nashville Scar" and "the fat lady sings" were not a good choice of words. We both thought she could really sing. If you are right, then I apologize with all my heart. I'm Sorry! Laurie

My sense is the show has run its course...

I also, believe, that, given the talent they had, it came down to the correct final two...

Melissa won because the show pumped the family/mother of 5 angle, and Gabe didn't have anything to counter it with...

If I may voice an opinion on this issue....its really all about the main networks competing with each other and relying on the viewers to keep them going. NBC battles with CBS and they both battle with ABC and TBS and so on. Its really not about someone's talent near as much as it is the ratings that a television network gains by trying to get as many viewers as possible and the TV networks use music in any way form or fashion to get the people to watch. The big fad this day and time is contest shows of any kind...Who Wants To Be A Millionare...Who Wants To Be such and such and so on lol Laughing lol Laughing lol Laughing lol. It will all die out soon enough when something else comes along I'm sure. Who in their right mind would want to be a millionare anyway Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing .
