I"ll be posting a new Gospel CD here on the forum on Thursday the 21st. I won't say much about it right now, but I think you'll like the concept. It's a little different (NO, it's not country rock Gospel).

I received my PreMaster copy and was not at all surprised by what I heard.
I may be considered a little prejudice, but once again my good friend Mike has made a great selection, come up with some great arrangements, and done a great job of executing the material he chose to perform.

He is a talented musician and has an ear for the way things should be done.

I thoroughly enjoyed the CD and will be playing it quite often.

Mike never surprises me, because I expect great things from him. I was not disappointed with the work he did on my CD and certainly was not disappointed with this latest effort that Mike has produced.
Get one as soon as you can and begin enjoying this array of steel guitar selections. You won't regret it..........

Ray,

Thanks very much. As you heard when you listened, it is not my usual country stew, but neither was "Steels On Wheels", and that has been one of my most well received CDs to date. This one is actually in the same bag. Thanks again for your reply, and I'll see you in St. Louis soon.

Mike plays the heck out of some classic country rock tunes. He's a master of getting different tones and shadings from his steels and Dobros and guitar. His albums are always interesting and enjoyable. He spent a lot of time trying to capture the sound of the era.

Thanks, Tommy. Could you be referring to that Buddy Cage slide ending on "She's No Angel" where the inversions go right up to the pickup? Arrow Arrow Question The sustain I needed for that may not have been there before your mod.

I just received an advance copy of Mike's new CD, and just as I expected, his playing is absolutely incredable, as is every recording Mike has ever produced or played on! Even if you're not one of those guys that's into some of this type of music, you will love Mike's approach and style on these songs. I know very few guys that are even capable of doing things like this, and Mike is one that most definately can, as is demonstrated on this new recording.

If you love hearing steel guitar being played at it finest, then do consider getting Mike's entire collection. Tone to die for, and an unforgetable style most of us can only hope for! This aint no "smoke and mirrors" or some kind of studio magic, stuff, this is FOR REAL!

Danny, your response greatly humbles me. Thanks you very much for the kind words. They mean even more to me when coming from such an accomplished player as yourself.

Third booth on the right after getting off the elevator.

I'll have TWO new CDs. I'll be releasing the other one some time this week, so watch the forum. It's a gospel CD with a different twist, I mean slant!
