Anyone know who was playing the black Sierra D10 on GOO Live with Patty Loveless?
Its funny, I saw him earlier in the day on DirecTV channel 101, a taped Sawyer Brown show at some large outdoor festival.
Sounded good on both... _________________ Scott Swartz

That was an "Encore Presentation", nice word for rerun.
Yep, I'm sure that was the great Pete! |

.
Also a nice word for "there should be a check coming from Gaylord soon"!
I knew it had to be a rerun because she hasn't done the Opry for a while; was it the one with the Porter and Dolly reunion from last year?
I've never played with Sawyer Brown but I did a few gigs with Trent Tomlinson last summer and I've heard that DirectTV has broadcast a festival show we did over and over. They never told us it was meant to be broadcast; it was just the video feed they use for the big "Jumbotron" screens at big outdoor shows. I've never seen it but remember we went on at noon on a hot day with no soundcheck, and that we never saw any paperwork for any TV broadcast and never saw a dime from it! |

Pete,
I didn't watch the whole show.....too many rockers. I remember seeing Andy Gibbs(?) on there. I look for a steeler and if there's none, I don't watch!
I had just checked back and they were bringing on Patty. I love her singing and she has a great band, 'specially the steeler! Great job!!
james
btw, Dolly and Porter were not on this show. |

Pete,
Since when does Gaylord pay for "reuse?" I have always had the impression that our wonderful Musicians Union (Local 257) made a "special arrangement" with Gaylord Entertainment where they don't have to pay the musicians for reuse. Am I wrong about that?
Anyway, sorry I missed the show. I would have loved to see and hear you play. You're one of the best and glad to hear you'll be hitting the road with Patty to support her new record soon. Jimmy Johnson and I have been talking about you lately!

Thanks for the kind words everyone...
Hey James... I was thinking that Opry reruns paid a little bit, but I could be wrong of course. |

I didn't catch the original but caught just Patty's tunes tonight on the "encore". That break that Pete and the lead player do on "Blame it on Your Heart" has always been a favorite of mine. That was back when radio still played Patty's songs and so it was kept pretty short. Pete, I bet when you do it live she lets you rip for awhile. If not, she should. _________________ HagFan

Pete,
Let's hope you're right and that you get that check. Plus, that will mean Gaylord owes me at least a couple of checks too!

Pete, you are correct it was Trent Tomlinson now that you say that, I was half watching half doing chores. There was a blond lapsteel you were playing also.
Great stuff on the Foster and Lloyd discs also. _________________ Scott Swartz
