I just acquired an older Woodson amp, solid state, 15" Woodson spkr, reverb and tremelo. One control is a "Tube sound".

Has anyone tried these on a pedal steel? If so, any suggestions on the settings?

Thanx,
Jim

I believe they were somehow related to Kustom amps. I had a big W-200 2x15 bass amp for a while, very James Jamerson. What model is yours?

Model W-150-2, s/n WA9901, made in Bolivar, MO. Amp is solid state and has tremelo, reverb and tube effect features. I guessing early 70's vintage.

This amp belonged to Bill Hall, a friend, musician and music teacher in Houston. His widow asked me to see if I could take amp, clean it up and get it working so she could sell it, which I am doing.

If it sounds good for steel, I will list on Forum.

Any other experiences with this amp will be appreciated.

Thanx,
Jim

Michael,

This is THE amp I have! (Notice the "lifetime" guarantee. Is that to the original owner or does it refer to the life of the company???)

I will try it out on my Emmons.

Thanks again,
Jim

Thanks Michael. I'm always amazed at your resources.
I will tell the U.S. Library of Congress about you, maybe they need your help!

Thanx,
Jim

Is this the Bill Hall you speak of? This pic was taken in the early '90s. Bill's health was not so good and I bought my T-8 Stringmaster from him, he was a great guy.

He sure looks like the Bill Hall I remember. On the last 'gig' I played with him, he played bass. I never got to see many of the guitars he made, but he often had some single neck lap steels for sale at Herb Remington's store.

Thanx,
Jim

Jim,
Herb gave me Bill's number when I was looking for a Stringmaster, I think Herb would have liked to have sold me something but he didn't have a Fender at the time and he knew Bill needed the money.........

Here is a Woodson amp on Ebay. Seems fairly cheap & not much time left!!!

P.s. I have no connection to the auction & can't vouch for the seller.
