I need a battery for my Gateway 1400. I see them on ebay for about $50 shipped. Any other places?

You can do a look-up for that battery here. These are new, not used or refurbished batteries.

Hello... It's a new battery, not used, or recycled. See what Gateway charges for a replacement, if they're still in business.
