howdy, i have aquired a very nice 70,s sho-bud, professional ,rack and barrel, the label inside says its a 6153, according models listed for sho-bud, there isnt a 6153, theres 6143, is this the normal confusion on the bud numbering, lew.

That could very well be the number of the steel and not the model number.
Most SuperPros numbers I've seen are five digits long and start with a 1.

howdy, the serial no, is 4432, the model no is 6153, the sticker is on the inside of the case not on the cabinet,? also the first two no,s, 44, are of a smaller stamp size, than the 53,? lew.

howdy,ive only been playin a couple of years,e9th, on this particular steel the proffess lew.ional, the lever that raises the 4-8, also lowers the 3rd, on c6th, being really green on c6th, is a norm set up and what if any,? do the levers operate no c6th,

| I just got a professional in for repair that is stamped 1473. It's a D10 with 8 and 4. The steel is a beautiful birdseye dark brown. It hasn't been played in years and sounds great even with the old strings on it. I'll buy it if I can get him to sell it. I'll post pics later when I get it cleaned up. |

The Professional was model 6143, and Sho-Bud serial numbers are a complete mystery.

There's been a number of 6153's mentioned here on the forum as 8+2 PROFESSIONALS. Maybe they misprinted some labels for their model 6155?
At any rate, there's quite a few 6153 labels out there!  |

The sticker in my Professional case says "6153". Hmmm.......
(Hey Skip!)
I have to add that my Professional has now become my main gigging guitar and I'm addicted to its amazing tone and sustain. The band loves it too. Rack and Barrel all the way!

8X4 configuration, still rack & barrel however.

Mine is 8+3 with no sign of a removed lever. It looks like the original owner may have ordered it that way.
I thought the first Sho~Bud D10 to come standard with 4 levers was the Pro III in 1975? I know the original round front '73-'74 LDG came standard with 4 levers, but what about the D10's?

6143 is the model number of "The Professional" and a shobud that says "The Professional" under the lacquer; and has any other model number stamped or written; is a misprint or mis-stamp.
They came standard with 8 pedals 2 knee levers; and any extra knees were custom ordered from the factory to the person ordering it; or put on later in life.
The "Pro~II" came standard with 8 pedals 4 knee levers; after that.
Again; all Sho~bud's could be ordered anyway you wanted it...they were a custom built guitar when ordered; or they put them together as a standard for that era.
Serial numbers didn't follow any sequence; as they were only put on as a personal record for the owner.

I don't really mind all the guitars he has. He did finally sell the MSA after 30 years. I help him buy the Zum with my winnings at the casino when we went to the convention Stereo steel amp too. As long as I can do my casinos I'm happy! LOL
