Hi Tray,

About 2 years ago, a friend from Idaho named Pat fale sent me this soundfile:
"Don Rich Hoedown Coltrain" asking me to do my version of it.
Is it the Don Rich you are mentioning, or just a tribute to him?.
I did a somewhat reduced version of it, borrowing the theme and a couple of the wonderful licks here:
"Blue Grass Fiddling"

If it's not him, it's a very good band indeed with a pretty good Pedal Steel player (listen to the original).

Regards,
Abel

Saturday nights, no money, and a B&W TV.

We always watched the show from the "Ranch".

My wife and I both wept when we heard the news.

We did get to see Buck and the Buckaroos before the accident.
At the Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas.

I was not born until 1980, so I never had the opportunity to meet "Dangerous" Don. However, folks like Tom Brumley and Jerry Brightman help keep his legacy alive through their stories. Jerry Brightman has an excellent tribute page to Don Rich on his website: www.slidestation.com

I still remember my brother and I hearing the news on KFOX FM in Los Angeles. We looked at each other and simultaneously said, "What did he just say?".

I'm still playing those early Greatest Hits volumes of Buck's. Buck's sound was never the same and I'm sure his heart wasn't either.
