I would like to remove the screen rings from my Wechter Scheerhorn reso, so that I can insert screenless rings.
Abe Wechter has advised that the screen rings are fastened with windshield glue.
I prefer not to remove the pan to access the underside of the screened rings.
Anyone have experience with screen ring removal?

You might want to try some flossing string. Wrap it around the edges of the screen and work it out, but don't force it.
