For my Nashville 1000, I have heard one stays higher than the other to help prevent distortion.
So should my pre-gain be higher than the master, or vice-versa

Chris, for a Clean signal, the Master Gain should be set higher than the Pre-Gain to avoid "clipping" of the signal.

Chris, For home playing I have my pre-gain at 3 and the master gain at 4...works for me

For home playing I usually keep them at 2 & 2, but for the times, when I need to turn it up, I was unsure of the proper step.
