professional help needed

I want to start playing my steel out some im wondering if a dd6 would give me a better sound than my Ibanez de7 delay and do ihave to come out of my vp with 2 chords to use it with 2 amps i like the sound of my mullen better with delay rather than my bass fex that has been converted to a fx 2 i know most of you guys that play professionally can help thanks
