I stumbled on to a Goodrich L10K the other day. The pot is a little scratchy. I've got a spare Dunlop "type J" pot, the type Tom Bradshaw sells and I'm wondering if it'll work in this pedal.
I've not opened it up yet but I assume being called a "10K" model that the pot is indeed a 10K ohm pot, or at least is different than the pot in my passive volume pedal, which is around 500K.
Anyone know about this?
I could open it first and check the value of the pot in it but like electricity, I follow the path of least resistance.

I have a friend in northern Michigan that has a 10K model Goodrich. The pot went bad and "they" put in a standard 500K pot for him and it worked OK.
I don't know how the volume taper is with the 500K pot, but I never heard him complain about it so I assume it worked OK. |

A 500k pot will work fine. Due to the buffer amp design used in this pedal, it's not picky about the pot value, as long as it an audio (log) taper pot. |

Thanks Jack and Donny. I thought I'd read somewhere in the Goodrich literature that you could use any ol' potentiometer in the 10K model but I hadn't considered making sure it had the logarithmic taper.
The dunlop works great in my standard Goodrich so I'll give it a go!...thanks again for taking the time to respond... |
