I'm still waiting for one. The local Peavey dealer told me he ordered his "allotment" back in Jan or Feb but that's the last I've heard.
A friend just bought two new Peavey P.A. speakers that have neo magnet speakers in them so they are producing them but must be placing emphasis on the new P.A. speaker systems rather than replacement magnets. |

Hi Jack, I have seen the neo magnet speakers that Peavey is using in some of their sound systems and I don't believe they are the Black Widow type speakers that we are talking about. The ones that I have seen do not have a removable magnet like the 1501's etc. I could be way off base but that's the way the ones I have seen were. The box didn't say Black Widow, just that it was a neo magnet speaker. _________________ Mullen (Black) Pre G-2 9x7, B.L. 705 PUP's, Evans SE 200 Telonics NEO 15-4, BJS Bar, Peterson Strobo Flip, Steelers Choice Seat, Folgers Coffee and Hilton Pedals.

Here's a rear view of my NV1000 with its replacement neo magnet. I got it about 2 months ago. The new nameplate states that this is an 8 ohm speaker but the nameplate on the speaker original basket states 4 ohms. It is a 4 ohm speaker.
With reference to Mike Brown's post, this is NOT a replacement basket. This basket was installed at the Peavey factory when the amp was manufactured. I have the original magnet.

I didn't say that the P.A. speakers used Black Widow speakers, just that they had the neo magnets. I realize there are different model Peavey produced speakers. Maybe the non-Black Widow P.A. speakers are made by Emminence, like the "Blue Marvel" speaker that is in the Nashville 112's.
Who knows, maybe the BW neo magnets are being made by a contractor rather than by Peavey. |

We design all of the Peavey products, therefore we have control over what is being offered to our customers. Some of our competitors do not design all of their products and distribute the product that they purchase for their potential customers.
Disregard the 8 ohm rating on the new neo magnets as the replacement baskets determine the impedance rating of the speaker, not the magnet structure.

Gary, I don't work for Peavey, but if the answer is the same as it has been for the past 6 months, then the answer will be
Next Month.

Send your messages to mbrown instead of mikebrown and they will get there. His mikebrown e-mail address is having problems.
But, just for general info (and I hope I'm not telling something I shouldn't) Mike told me the first batch of Neo Magnets for the BW's were rejected as they were "wrong" (don't know what the "wrong" problem was) and they are waiting on the new shipment. |

Jack is correct. The first shipment had reverse polarity, so we sent them back. The neo BW magnets are made in China, but the remainder of the BW components are made in the U.S.(Meridian, Mississippi).
That has delayed the distribution of them by about six months. |

So Mike, what does that mean for our receiving our orders. Could we get some idea of a time frame? Two months from now, a year from now?
Thank You for your interest and help in getting some kind of an honest answer. alan _________________ Mullen (Black) Pre G-2 9x7, B.L. 705 PUP's, Evans SE 200 Telonics NEO 15-4, BJS Bar, Peterson Strobo Flip, Steelers Choice Seat, Folgers Coffee and Hilton Pedals.

I guess an answer to the question asked in my last post is too much to ask. ah _________________ Mullen (Black) Pre G-2 9x7, B.L. 705 PUP's, Evans SE 200 Telonics NEO 15-4, BJS Bar, Peterson Strobo Flip, Steelers Choice Seat, Folgers Coffee and Hilton Pedals.

Wait, wait, do you mean, the neo mag I have, is with the reverse polarity?? Please be more specific about this. When I got this magnet, I did a "shoot out" to compare with stock 1501 SB-4.( you can "search" that post on forum)

I have been notified by my Peavey dealer in McAllen Texas that my neo magnet was shipped to me on Tuesday July 2. I checked the tracking number from UPS and it will be delivered Monday, July 7. This will give me a new sound from the Evans SE-200. alan _________________ Mullen (Black) Pre G-2 9x7, B.L. 705 PUP's, Evans SE 200 Telonics NEO 15-4, BJS Bar, Peterson Strobo Flip, Steelers Choice Seat, Folgers Coffee and Hilton Pedals.
