December 10 I will celebrate two important anniversaries: My birth Dec. 10, 1929 and my first steel -- a Dobro-style my parents bought Dec. 10, 1942 for my 13th birthday. My wife has bought me a Sierra D10 8+2 and took my old black-face Fender Twin Reverb to the shop for a complete overhaul. The steel is in shipment and UPS tracking says it will arrive Dec. 10. Can you tell? I'm excited. |

Happy birthday Roy and many more to come. We just never get too old to play steel do we? I still remember the good times we had in Galesburg, comparing notes. Do you play steady now?

Thanks to all of you -- and to Smiley, who sent me a WAV file with him playing Happy Birthday.
That Sierra arrived today, right on schedule. To top it off, my wife bought me a new SG bench and my Twin Reverb is back from the shop. I'm like the little boy who propositioned the little girl. When she said, "Yes" he said, "Dot dam. Now I dot it and I don't know what to do wid it!"

Thanks to all of you who posted birthday greetings. I think I've developed more friedships on this Forum in the two months I've been on than in all my 73 years. I guess it's because we all have that one wonderful thing in common.
BTW, the Sierra arrived right on schedule -- mid day today -- right smack in the middle of my birthday.
A glorious season to all of you.
