I received my Hatton case for my D-8 Stringmaster this week. Kevin has built one superb case - solid and beautiful. The guitar fits very closely and there is almost no movement of the guitar at all in the case. Thanks, Kevin.
Coincidentally, I also managed to find a second bridge cover for the guitar this week, so I now have the proverbially well-dressed guitar...
Here are some pics of the case. It's not obvious from the photos but the case is covered in tweed.

Very cool Al. You really needed this to protect your baby. That is the nicest case I have seen for quite a while. A lot lighter than that "other" one too |

Yes, Gary, it is definitely lighter. Nothing wrong with the other one, it is also extremely well made and will definitely protect the guitar. But I got a smaller car and it won't fit any more! For real! And I can carry this one all by myself.
And the guitar is my #1. Thanks. _________________ So many stringed instruments, so little time... |

Looks like an excellent case to me. I've built a bunch of the single neck cases, and even those are a lot of work. I re-built a Stringmaster quad case. I would never do another one. |

My search started with my trying to find someone who would rebuild the original Fender tweed case. The guitar itself is worth putting a lot of effort into protecting, but alas, the original case is beyond that. Still, you can't fault the original case - it gave it's life protecting the guitar!

Folks, you can send Kevin a pm or email through the memberlist (you have to locate Kevin Hatton in the list) or (this is easier) do a search on author Kevin Hatton and then click on the pm or email button in one of his posts to the forum.
Please let me know if you have difficulty.

Guys, thank you so much for the tremendous response on my cases. These Stringmaster cases are covered in hard bodied coated genuine Fender Tweed. Very durable. I also do them in standard Fender Tolex. The Tweed is more. These are not cheap cases. The guitar is float mounted in the case so that neither the keyhead or the changer touch the case. The face of the guitar is also offset from the case for protection. These cases are built LIGHT but STRONG. They are meant to enhance the selling vaue of your vinatge steel. If anyone wants to place an order either email at httn11@verizon.net or call me at (716) 691-7505, or 6527. I can build a case for ANY guitar. Pedal or non pedal. |

What he said. I am quite satisfied - that's an understatement. These are cases built to enhance the value of your instrument by 1)preserving it and 2)showing it off to advantage.
I guess I ought to show a Stringmaster instead of the Magnatone in my avatar...

Hi Al,
Nice case. I still have a somewhat battered tweed one.
Where did you find that bridge cover you mentioned?
You can read about my bridge cover blight here:

Hi All,
I recently purchased a case for my Sierra U12 from Kevin Hatton. I recommend his services without reservation. Here is the email I sent him upon receiving the case.

Hi Kevin,
The Sierra case arrived. It looks fine. I really like the wheels. My back likes the wheels too! A cabinet maker friend of mine checked the case out. He says you did a fine job. Thanks again for your help with this. I know it was a tricky case to make.
Regards,
Mike |

Al,
I could not happen but notice the Magnatone on your avatar.
You were once going to sell it? Do you still have it? Did you fix it up and now are enjoying it for yourself?
What's the scoop?
The cases look real nice. I'll file the notice for future reference to order.
Aloha,
Don |

I've built a bunch of single neck cases. I enjoy it ( somewhat), but it's sort of labor intensive. Right now I'm finishing three: one for a very early long-scale frypan, one for a bakelite, and one for an EH150.
I doubt that I'll build any more than I'll need for my own use.
Kevin's cases look like quality pieces. |

Hey AL,
Can we see what goes inside the case?
