Would like to use my Carter Starter as a rehearsal guitar but would also like to replace the pickup with a Bill Lawrence LXR-16 for a little better tone. Does anybody know if this would work or not? Seems everyone that owns a Carter steel likes the sound of the LXR-16... _________________ FoxMod-NV112,Boss DD6, [Guitars] PRS, Fender, Martin, Ovation [Keys] Hammond, Yamaha, Korg, Roland [Sound] Mackie, Crown, TC Helicon, Behringer, JBL, Alesis |

So what you are saying is that the pickup can be replaced, right? My real question was CAN it be done? Not, do the Bill Lawrence LXR-16 sound better.. _________________ FoxMod-NV112,Boss DD6, [Guitars] PRS, Fender, Martin, Ovation [Keys] Hammond, Yamaha, Korg, Roland [Sound] Mackie, Crown, TC Helicon, Behringer, JBL, Alesis |

What I'm saying is if other Carter owners have done it, you should able too also. If you really want to know, call the folks at Carter and ask them. _________________ The only thing better than doing what you love is having someone that loves you enough to let you do it.

If I recall correctly, they're standard wide mount pickups. |

I replaced the Starter pickup with a 10-1. I would call Carter just to make sure the one you want will fit to be sure though. Great change in the tone. I'm almost sorry I sold it now as I also could find it usefull as a rehearsal guitar. _________________ John P. Cusack a.k.a John Cisco
