Can you tell I'm excited? ....Wow!
Looks like a brand new guitar. It plays even better than it looks. Complete new rebuild, 8X7, new gloss black mica, flocking and a 3/4" lift. I now have to remember to wipe off my fingerprints & these pics don't do it justice.
Albert totally exceeded my expectations. I almost went into in shock when I opened the case! Thank You Albert!

That axe is gorgeous!!! I think Albert did mine prior to doing yours. He rally is a super person with a real love of the PP's. He did some upgrades on mine that are super. Congratulations to you and to Albert for another GREAT job!  |

Kevin, that is one of your cases and a mighty fine one at that. Strong and light. Those wheels sure help too.
Russ, my Mother gave me 3 small pots of ivy a few years back and now I'm strangled with it. Those were taken just outside my front door. I think Tarzan lives in my back yard but I can't see him because of the ivy. Maybe it's just the neighbors screaming from strangulation. Thanks

Tim, I saw your guitar here on the forum and it really helped me decide on a rebuild. Because of you, Al Vessel and Mickey Adams I knew Albert was the man. 10 knee levers? That's double digits! You will never be bored. You know how excited I feel right now. Thanks!

I was on the phone with Albert as this guitar was going out the door. Albert is racking up quite a reputation with the incredibly meticulous work he does. He has my 74 Fatback right now and is reversing the levers for its new owner. Some lucky guy bought mine, and Albert was the guy to redo it for me...Albert, you are the man!...And that is one clean lookin new hotrod!...

Hi Danny,
Wow...congratulations!! Albert sure does nice work.
I noticed the pull rod guide bracket he must have fabricated from some aluminum strip. Would you mind posting a close up of the changer end so we can see that feature up close?

Lynn, Also notice the shrink wrap on the wires to reduce clatter. Nice touch! I hope these are clear enough. If you need more, let me know

| Beautiful, meticulous work! The guide piece for the raise rods is a great idea. Looks like there's also a nice guide piece for the long lowering rods on the E9 side. I wonder if Mr. Johnson would sell them separately? |

Here's something I really like. The first three pedals have no springs and return on string tension alone. So Albert makes a different pedal connector for these so if your foot slips off the pedal (or you accidently lift the pedal) it won't come off. See the pic.

Hi Nick, A little history here... I have owned (and like an idiot I later sold)two other push/pulls ('66,'69) and sold them to just play lap steel. I got the pedal steel bug again in March and I bought this guitar from Randy Gilliam for $2,600 shipped. He put new fingerboards and tuners on it and had Rick Price set it up. It was one of Bobby Garrett's old guitars that he had given to somebody that Randy bought it from. Randy said it was in restorable condition and he was right. The guitar had Matt Black Mica. I almost traded it in on a used Promat but the deal fell through. Deep inside, I always wanted a nice rebuilt, gloss black mica D-10 push/pull and so I had Albert do the job. Here's a couple of old pics.

Craig, The tweed case is part of a set. There is another smaller case that holds the pedals, the rods and the legs. They are made by Fellow Forumite Kevin Hatton.

I got real lucky and found a used set in Los Angeles from a guy who sold his push/pull.
Personally, I would rather have the black cases because I think the tweed is more suited to a guitar made in the 50's like a Fender. |
