I'd like to know what tunes y'all would like for a C6 course.

It's gonna be for the experienced beginner to intermediate level, guys. So don't go requesting off-the-wall jazz tunes. Keep your requests country and western swing.

Tunes so far I've chosen are Deep Water, Corrina Corrina, Columbus Stockade, Roly Poly and The Kind of Love I Can't Forget.

I'm gonna try to have it out by Scotty's... if gas prices don't keep me away. Sad

Post your requests here, please.

Herb, what about an all Gospel C6 instructional DVD? Or CD with tab?
There are not many Gospel C6 songs out there.
I only know 2 or 3 Gospel songs on C6. what about these>

Just a closer walk with thee
Where could I go
Uncloudy day
Peace In the valley
My God is real
Will the circle be unbroken
The eastern gate
Life's railway to Heaven
well, the rest could be country i reckon. Smile

Well, you could add Rocky Top to that list.
Also, when you publish it (the book)try to keep the pages together if you can. Hate to try and flip a page to finish a song. Just my take on it.

Now that would be interesting: the definitive C6 versions of 'Together Again' and 'Rocky Top'. Why not add 'OBS' to the lineup too? Whoa!

Charleton's C6 version of "Six Days on the Road" is an eye opener.
"Fraulin" is a great lyrical country tune for C6.

I'm not kidding about "Together Again".* The art of getting E9th sounds from the C6th neck is, as far as I can tell, totally undocumented. A traditional E9th ballad would be a good start. Bob's suggestion of "Fraulein" would be good, too.

I've seen Bobby Black play "Rocky Top" on C6th without pedals at a steel jam, smoking everyone in the room. Once you understand a tuning, anything is possible.

*I was kidding about "Nyquil Blues", though. Cool

Gary, I haven't even STARTED IT yet! Laughing

Patience is..., as is so often repeated, my young friend... a virtue.

I'll have it ready by ISGC, around the end of August.

Herb, You probably know my favorite tune you do is "I Gotta Have My Babe Back", which you have already done in a booklet. So, how about "Slippin Around". Another Floyd Tillman favorite of mine.

Local DJ, Paul Berlin told the story that he was once in a cafe with Floyd and they were sitting near the pay phone. They overheard the guy on the phone saying, "it just seems we always have to slip around" and Floyd's mind started racing.

Harlem Nocturn. Might be a stretch, but could be interesting.

Besides which, the name of the tune is "Have You Met Miss Jones, not "Have You Seen Miss Jones".
Not that anyone cares. Laughing
