This guitar is as close to mint as one could expect from a guitar that has only been out of the house (a friend's) twice. And most of the time it has sat unplayed in my office with the vinyl cover on it.

As best I recall, it was purchased in the mid to late 80's. I bought it brand new from the factory. It HAS the 14 hole bellcranks. So in essence it is a LeGrande II.

I am certain, it will need a good oiling, since it has not been played in over 10 yrs.

The price is $2295.00. I have 2 brand new vertical knee levers, with all hardware (except the pull rods and nylon tuners) that the late Ron Lashley Sr gave me. I never installed then, because I stopped playing it when I received my new Excel PSG. For an additional price of $75.00 each, I will ship one or both, in the package.

The buyer of course, will have to install it (or both) and purchase the pull rods from Emmons; or others that might carry them. I am sorry I do not know the price of the pull rods. I imagine less than $20.00 total for two pull rods and two nylon tuners. Not sure.

It also has the "compensators" to correct for "hysterisis", which was an optional extra at the time I bought it.

For an additional $100.00, I will include an original Emmons' Volume Pedal. It is the kind that uses the extra pin, rather than the pin built into the pedal. It will fit on ANY Emmons PSG ever built. The pot as far as I remember is good. Not 100% positive on this, but I seem to recall it was. The pedal looks almost brand new. Really Very Happy

I also bought an Emmons' LeGrande 9th pedal AND pedal pull rod. It was never installed. I have dozens of brand new Emmons' 14 hole bellcranks, and the Emmons' "E-clips", AND I have several brand new crossrods. In addition I have several brand new Emmons' "LeGrande" type left and right knee levers, including their installation hardware. Again I have NO pull rods, nor their nylon tuners.

These are something the buyer and I could discuss. But the buyer may not wish any of this. And that is perfectly ok.

The case is immaculate and looks brand spanking new. I do not believe there is a scratch on the case. The case of course is included in the price.

I will charge the exact shipping costs that UPS charges me and not one penny more. OR, I can bring it to the buyer in Stlouis at the ISGC show this year, if the buyer is going to be there. That would of course save all shipping costs. I will not bring it, without a confirmed sale before leaving for Stlouis.

I am going there to pick up my new Excel Superb PSG. So it is only a small inconvenience for me to bring it to Stlouis.

I am sorry, but I do not know how (I have forgotten) to post pictures here. Or I would.

Note: I am posting it here first as a courtesy to SGF players. If there are no takers here, I will then post it on ebaY.

May Jesus bless you and yours always,

carl

Let me make sure everyone understands, since several callers got confused and I am sure it is my fault. Which I sincerely apologize for.

Lest there be any doubt, the $2295.00 price is for my Emmons' "Lashley LeGrande", with 8 and 4 including legs, pedal rods and case, PLUS shipping costs. The price does not include the other parts or the Volume Pedal I listed. They are extra. I am very sorry if I confused anyone on this.

It has the standard "Emmons' setup" for 8 and 4. Yes, it does lower the 9th string on E9th RKR (from D to C#).

In addition, I put some foam rubber in strategic places to keep the undercarriage quiet, as is standard practice on many PSG's. If you wish, you can easily discard these. But I love 'em.

Plus, I installed a "terminal block" to make PU changes easier to replace. You can also do away with this if you wish.

And it does have the humbucking pickups on both necks. I seem to recall model 108N PU's when I bought it. But please don't hold me to this, since I am not 100% sure.

Also, I forgot to mention the color. It is glossy black "mica glass" over hard rock maple body, as Emmons' brochure puts it. And it does have the 14-hole bellcranks, with the exception of the "half-stop" on the E9th 2nd string, which requires a 4-hole bellcrank.

Sorry if there was confusion.

One final point. Out of courtesy to the buyer, I will not sell any parts separately before the guitar is sold. If the buyer does not buy them, all of the parts WILL be for sale.

I will let you know when it is officially sold.

I have upwards of 75, 14-hole bellcranks. They are new, and I think there is an equal number of "E-clips", but not sure on this. There may be less.

Bobby, I responded to your email. Call me, ok dear friend, since I do have firm offers to buy it, if you do not take it. I can not believe the quick interest in this guitar. However, since you were first to respond, you have first dibs.

Bobby Boggs has comfirmed his offer to buy it. He was first.

My regrets to all the others that wanted it; and apparently from the phone calls and emails, it was apparently priced a little low. But that is ok, a deal is a deal.

I really had no idea it would be worth what it apparently is. So may Jesus bless Bobby and may He also bless Carl Vilar, Allen Howington and all the others that were kind enough to give me firm "buys" if Bobby did not confirm. I am in awe.

Bobby and I are arranging to get it to him by shipping; or maybe meeting somewhere on the road, since we live in adjoining states.

Would you believe, that after not playing it for over 10 yrs, my heart is sad, it is going. But it is only right. I will never play it again, since I fell in love with my Excel universal. So much so that I have ordered a new one as I stated in my first post.

I will put it up for sale also. As I will several laptop steels. I may sell my Rick pre-war 7 stringer bakelite also. Along with a Fender S-8 "Stringmaster". And a National S-6 New Yorker.

I NEVER play them. So maybe the Lord will bless my letting someone else have the pleasure of those vintage guitars. Instead of them just gathering dust and my wife having to try and sell them when I go.

At age 76, I am truly blessed and I do enjoy every day that Jesus let's me live. Of course, if He takes me tonight, I win "full bore" since that life will be forever. And it doth not get any better than that! Praise Jesus!

Thanks to all who have written and called sooooo quickly. I shall always be greatful.

Ok,

Here is the latest.

Bobby is deciding on what he wants. But I am sure he does NOT want all the parts. There are many parts. They are all brand new. They have been in a box untouched for over 10 yrs. I have not been near that box in the interim.

After Bobby has decided on what he wants and agrees to buy whatever he wants, I will sell the other parts. Please remember again, there are NO pull rods nor their nylon tuners.

But I also NEED to tell those that are interested. I have callers who have stated they will take EVERY thing, with the exception of the Volume Pedal.

And I am not sure Bobby is going to take it either. But it is his if he chooses. So Adam Goodale, the volume pedal is yours if Bobby does not take it. Since no one else has shown an interest in the VP. The price is $100.00 dollars. And KNOW in advance, that I do not know if the pot is good or bad. The rest looks brand new. PLUS shipping of course.

Or I can take it to Stlouis at the ISGC if you are going to be there. Your choice friend. You can pay me there if you wish. That of course would save the shipping costs.

Once Bobby decides, then the next in line gets a call. I have put everyone that offered to buy in chronological (by time) order; out of fairness to all.

So may you all win in the end. And IF you let Jesus be the guide of your life, you WILL win. I garontee it!

I am truly humbled at the response to this. My phone has not stopped ringing. Which is a blessing that I am most thankful for.

As I told several, "Even if you do not buy a single thing, your friendship is worth far more!"

Thank you Bill,

And YOU made my day even better.

Thank Jesus for you and all the many blessings.

I have sold 3 guitars in less than 24 hours on the SGF. Plus, a whole slew of Emmons' LeGrande parts. And it looks as of this moment that the 4th one is going to sell when I get some pictures to the prospective buyer.

I cannot tell you how in awe I am that they sold this quickly. I am very grateful. And always very blessed. For which I give all the credit to my Lord and my God Jesus Christ.

Thanks again dear friend,

carl

I am in awe, and sooo humbled.

My phone has not stopped ringing. I have received dozens and dozens of emails almost non-stop with offers to buy my items for sale, from all over the world.

Even a guitar I did not list for sale (my present Excel Universal) may be sold. Not sure. Also one person wants my spare Peavey 400, that I did not even think about selling until he thought the one I posted as an example might be for sale. Wow

Again, I am in utter awe. I was not sure how things would go. When I ordered my new Excel, I was not realy sure just how I was going to pay for it. Then I considered selling My Emmons' LeGrande and all my lapsteels, except the Rick pre war bakelite 7 stringer; which I may sell. Not sure yet on that one since it is soooo rare.

And they are all sold including all the new parts I had are sold in less than 2 days! With many still calling and sending emails saying, "I will take it as is with NO questions asked if they back out!"

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine this would happen.

I am sooo blessed by my precious Lord for causing this to happen. And I thank Him and love Him AND you all, for your kind words and well wishes. Thank you dear friends.

I will be making a donation to the SGF for this blessing. As well as ordering some new strings.

My wife is very sad I sold the Emmons. I am too. But I will never play it again. Why just let it sit there?

May Jesus bless all of you. And may He make every day wonderful for you always.

Charles,

That is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me.

Thanks dear brother in Christ.

I am in awe at how quickly I sold four of my guitars on here. No haggling, no nothing. I put a price and all 4 sold within 32 hours. Unbelievable.

Thanks to all who wanted them even after they were sold. And thanks to Jesus for such blessings. I am humbled.

I am in the process of shipping everything now.

Much Good luck to the 4 who bought them. And to all of course.

I will be selling my Excel Superb PSG in a month or two and very possibly my Rickenbacher pre-war bakelite 7 stringer. Not sure on the Rick. It will be very difficult to let that one go.

The reason I am selling the Excel, is I have ordered a new one. So I am picking it up in Stlouis at the show. I am hoping that the buyer (if it sells of course) will let me bring it to them there. This will save shipping hassles, and of course dollars.

That way I can take one up there and bring a different one back. Very Happy

I will take some high quality digital pictures of the one I am selling and then post it in about a week. But it will NOT be delivered until at least the show. Since I need it until I get my new one.

The reason I must do this is: I am short. And mine has shorter legs and pedal rods. So when I ordered the new one, I had them put on the standard length legs and pullrods on purpose. So in Stlouis I will switch them. Then both buyer and seller will win. Praise Jesus.

So be looking for the thread anyone who is interested.

and thanks again Charles. Smile

I am so sorry Adam, but the buyer bought every thing.

I hope you find one soon. He also wanted me to install some knee levers with special attachments. I am in the process of doing that now, before I polish it and ship it to him. Thanks for your interest and thanks for posting about it.

May Jesus always bless you richly dear friend,
