Once again, having joined the ranks of the gainfully employed (w/ a day job), I no longer get to loiter around Jim's inspiring shop like I use to. I'm so bummed that I didn't get to meet you Del Ray! Next time you're going to be in the Oceanside area, let Jim or I know in advance so I can try to make it by his shop. I only live 10 minutes away in Carlsbad.

He's worked on several of my guitars and always does that last little tweek and go's that extra mile to make sure his customers are happy and get exactly what they want!
A great shop run by a great guy!

I've heard of this Palenscar fellow....
Turns out his shop is a front for steel players to come in and throw chops.
I'm glad I don't live there, I'd be hanging out all the time.
A visit to his place is up there with seeing the pyramids.
'Oceanside'--who would not want to go there?

Oh Yeah! This stop is a must for PSG players traveling throught the area..... a great shop, and Jim is a really nice guy! He talked my wife into dropping me off there.... but she made me surrender my VISA card first Sad

Hey Jim Eaton... I noticed that 112 doesn't have one of your Knob Gaurds on it... your work is not complete yet Smile

Wow....just saw this great thread about my dear friend Jim.

I was fortunate to have the privilege of playing for Jim's grand opening a couple years ago along with my friends JayDee Manness and David Wright. The the day it opened, it immediately became a steel players "Disneyland", as Mike P. earlier pointed out.

No one could have a better friend or know of a more sincere, competent, and honest man than Jim. If he told me the world was flat, I wouldn't drive across town!

Does that mean he charges $12 for a churro? Whoa! Oh, man, but I'm hungry now!!! Laughing Laughing

But seriously, I can't wait until I can make it down to his shop sometime.

Jim's shop is a great resource and his work is excellent! He recently did a beautiful job rebuilding a friend's S10 P/P Emmons. We can also thank him for the two Jay Dee Maness instructional DVD's.

I only wish he were closer to L.A.
