This is a great old song written and sung by James O'Gwynn and charted by George Jones.

The first tab covers a common unision string sound on E9th. The same knee lever raises the 1st and 2nd strings to unison with the 3rd and 4th stings. This all happens in one flowing sequence.

The second tab shows some Pete Drake sounds on C6th, most of which can be duplicated on E9th with some effort and practice. For this section, the 1st C6th string is tuned up to a "G'.

Greg,

I like that Pete Drake thing. Met Pete in 1961 and liked that stuff.

To bad I don't do C6th.

Here's a thread from the past, I did a search first and this is all I could find.

Can anyone tell me, from the historical records, who played steel on the jukebox version of this tune. I wanna guess Jimmy Day but I've been wrong before.

There are some head tilting/ear bending changes in the pads and fills.

Thanks all.
