Hey Steve, It is called a Spirit model and the dove is the Christian symbol of the Holy Spirit. Ron |

I asked a reliable source about the "Spirit" model and he explained that it is the same great quality as all of the Rains guitars. It just has the (very nice)dove on the front and on the fingerboard markers.
I called Ron about this guitar and got the bad news that it was already sold. I never met a finer person. I asked him why he was selling it for such a reasonable price and he said he just wanted to make somebody a good deal. He sure did. What a guy! |

I have a Rains D-10 Spirit model just like that guitar only in black. It is a great guitar.
However, some time back I had a chance to pick up a "custom" ordered Spirit model Rains that had a Mark Giles lacquered cabinet. On this guitar, the dove symbol on front and the fret markers are done up in mother-of-pearl
I just can't resist posting a picture of it:

Hi Erv, I noticed that the logotype on your Rains is smaller than usual. When was your guitar built?
BTW. You have way too many guitars!

Peter,
Yes, the Logo is smaller than usual.
It also is done up in mother-of-pearl.
The guitar is a few years old. I bought it from a fellow steeler in Canada after he bought a Jackson. |

I don't have the Spirit model, but I love my Rains. Best guitar I've ever had......and I've had a few in the last 38 years of playing. it out performs any guitar I've ever had......Gary builds a great product.
