Tentative information for our next Mid Atlantic Steel Guitar Association (MASGA) jam will be August 2nd & 3rd at the Moose Lodge in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Featured Steel player will be Jeff Whittington from the Charlotte area and on Sunday will be the Revolutions Gospel group from near the Charlotte area.
Format will be approximately the same as in the past, however, I will add to this message as details are finalized.
New officers will be elected for the next year so this is an important meeting/jam. Stay tuned!

Big Bump for a fine organization. If you're within driving distance to this event....try to make it. It proves to be a great time each and every time. I plan on being there this time. I miss all of the great players from that area and especially ER and Karl who always put on the best time for the folks. The food down there is just plain ole country southern hospitality. You can sit down with your frinds and have a little lunch or supper and talk about old times together. Last time I was there, we had Russ Hicks as our guest. Well he got on the lead guitar and I started singing Workin Man Blues and you should seen the steel players runnin for their rigs to join in the fun. And fun it was. It always is down there. It's a great way to wind down your summer and relax a bit with friends. See you all there

Ray Walker

PS Hey I might even bring a couple seats with me this time...but I will definitely be bringing something else...that I know some of you would enjoy. Will tell all later Wink

I have just been in contact with Glen Lanning and E.R. Chandler and I will also be playing at this show in August. I was there this past January and it was really an excellent show, so if you haven't been, I highly recommend it to everyone. Also, this time I am going to do a 2 hour seminar on Saturday morning starting at 10:00 a.m. I will be covering a lot of material on E9th and C6th both at the seminar and there will be quite a bit of tab included. Now, the best part is that there will be no extra charge for the seminar as it will be free to anyone who attends the show, so be sure to take advantage of this, since most shows charge anywhere from $50 to $75 for a seminar.

I hope to see many of you there.

We will have a very good returning backup band for the weekend:
Woody Ledford (a steel player's friend) on lead guitar, his son Dale on Bass, and Ken Upright on drums.
They have always provided a solid backup.
Come on to Kannapolis!

Just received word that Jeff Surratt of Show-Pro steel guitars will be attending with a couple of his custom steels. These are steel guitars that Duane Marrs helped design before his untimely death. Come on out and welcome Jeff to Eastern North Carolina!

Hey folks, I bought my first PSG this past November, attened my my first MASGA weekend in January and my wife says I'm hooked. David Hall and E.R.Chandler have been a great help.

I'm looking forward to the next jam this August. I'm really wanting to learn some on the C6 neck and Herby Wallace will be devoting part of his seminar to the C6.

My group, "Revelation" has been asked to perform during the "Gospel Hour" Sunday morning. I'd like to take this time to encourage everyone to come out and help our club take this time to worship and honor our Lord and Savior with our talents.

Well...looks like all things are a go for this great event and I will be there with some seats and I will be representing Rains Steel Guitars as well. I will have a booth and you will be able to ask questions....touch and feel this great guitar as well as actually sit down and play it. I was so impressed after I played one that I bought one and then went on to represent and team up with Rains with Walker Seats.
I look forward to seeing all the ole gang again and also meeting some new friends hopefully. If you can somehow make this show, I know you will get as much joy and fun out of it as I have over the past years. There's no question that this time will be no different.

Hi Everyone, I'm sorry to say that Betty & I Will not be able to Make this Great Show & Jam. I have to blame the Gas Prices @ $4 a Gallon & for us it is a Little over 600 Miles one Way so you can see that would be pretty Expensive just for the Gas Alone. I really hate to miss this but I guess we will Have to. Sounds like a Great weekend & we sure will be Thinking about Everyone Hope everyone has A Great time which I'm sure they will. Russ & Betty Kern From up here in PA.
