I can't believe it was that hard to reach George Jones. I met a woman and her daughter at the last concert he gave here in Newfoundland, and they told me that George's wife set them up with comps and aftershow passes on the mere strength of a fan letter.
All he had to do was attend a concert, bring the guitar and get the attention of a roadie. Once he opened the case, all the doors would also have opened then and there. If that guitar was in my possession, I would have found George's home address somehow, rang his doorbell (or shook the gates), and handed it to him in person. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars

The same thing happened to Charlie Daniels someone stole one of his guitar years ago,His name was on the fretboard, someone put another fretboard over it,years later a guy was working on it and peeled the top board off and saw Chatlie nams, got in touch with Charlie and gave it backCan't remember how long it was missing, but it was a LONG time,it's hanging in Charlies Museum in NV.A real neat Museum by the way,If you are in NV check it out, right down the street from Tootsies.DYKBC. _________________ Hard headed, opinionated old geezer. Doyle, you could be right on the money there. That would explain the story about not being able to contact George. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars

$25 for a Martin 000-anything even in 1962? Never mind $10. He probably couldn't get George on the blower all those years because he already used up his one call from prison. _________________ "Gopher, Everett?" |

Yea, I wonder if those are the same guys who stole my FENDER 1000 and Fender Amp at the same time. My name was on the front of the steel so why not return those to me.Guess I'm not known that much anymore, oh well, at least Geoge is getting his guitar back. |

Its been 26 years or so since my Martin D-41 was stolen out of my Van...They took the time to open the case and just take the Guitar and leaving the case on the ground outside the van....I never got another martin and I still wonder if whoever stole it knew what they had....It also had a strap with my full name with it.....I guess if I live 20 more years someone from will give it back hope I hang on..
At the time I offered 300 buck reward... |
