Hi guys. I must be the 'longest lurker' ever on the forum! Wanted to join many moons ago, but dropped the idea as our country was not listed on PayPal's country dropdown. Things have changed a couple of years ago, so here I am!

The PSG sound has facinated me since the first time I've heard it as a child. So did the growling sound of dobro which I've discovered later on in my life. About 8 years ago (at age 42) I've decided that it's time I joined the community playing these 'strange' instruments and bought its closest relative available at that time on this side of the globe - a Guya lapsteel. Did not really enjoy it that much, so I bought my first harmonica 'just to get into music'. That had grown to a set of 24+ by now (oops, lost me a bunch of potential buddies right there!) - and my instrument of choice as far as my co-players are concerned. Long story short: by now I also own 2x resonators: a late 30's Regal and a Wechter Scheerhorn (Rob Ickes signature). My PSG is a 3x4 10-string Sierra (Artist, I believe) with a TrueTone pickup specially built for me by JW - and a low profile Hilton pedal.

I juggle my practice time between the reso & PSG, which implies a steep learning curve but slow progress - so I'll be a rookie on both instruments for many years to come. I'm fortunate to be playing in a church band allowing me anything I'm brave enough to attempt, which really helps a lot.

I've been tapping so much from this great forum in the years gone by - I hope the time will come where I can also contribute to a few threads (and a few heated arguments, of course)! Smile
