I'm playing at Geri,s World Cafe & Coffee House October 25th. 8-10pm. John Vana-Drums, Bobby Haynes-Bass, Bill Marles-keyboard, and I,ll play steel and synth guitar. Please make it if you can. I,m trying to promote the steel guitar as much as I can. You know, " a lot of people have no idea what a Steel Guitar is" Thanks, Al

Guys, this is something every steel player in So Cal should attend. Al is one of the finest players in the country. He is one of the kings of the C6, up there in the same league as Buddy and Curly and Reece.
Aside from the fact that this is going to be the hottest steel guitar show on the west coast for the whole year, this also is a test to see whether or not a club can make any money by showcasing a steel player. If this show is successful, there will be more of them. If the owner loses money because nobody shows up, he or she will never book Al or anybody else ever again.
I will be there for sure, and I hope to see every local player in town there too. |

Great work Albert!! I think the most IRRIGATED I was after a job was when some red-neck female said "that's kinda lika ironin' board! What duya call it?" Keep up the good work. By the way we attended Pee Wamble's funeral Tuesday; he was 87. What a fine trumpet man he was. Keep in touch...Best, your friend, Hugh |
