In Dobro mode, if I tap, or accidentally bump the box, the volume level jumps significantly, the tone gets muddier and the Timbre control seems to behave more like a volume control.
I've changed out the batteries several times with no luck.
I suspect (but can't see) a cold solder joint, since the problem is intermittent.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?
Any help would be much appreciated -- Ken Fox or any other electronics buffs out there?
Thanks!

If I were you I'd send it to Ollie at Goodrich Sound Co. 8733 Silver Creek Rd Whitehall,MI 49461
Call him first at 231-893-5702. I had a problem with my steel driver III a couple of years ago and he fixed it for a very reasonable fee. |

Thanks for the contact information.
If I can't solve this problem I may have to send it up there.

I've seen my tech touch every solder joint in an amp with his iron. That pretty much eliminates cold joint problems. Make sure everything is mounted tightly, including the pots. Poke around with a chopstick or wooden dowel while the unit is on. That may locate the intermittent problem. |
