What are the extra strings for? |
I don't see any extra strings.
Too bad there is no close up photo under the guitar. |

Earnest,
I meant to ask, Why would a pedal steel have 12 instead of 10 strings? |

If anyone is interested in this guitar, I might be able to check it out in person as it's at a music store across town. |

I play a D-12. On the E9th it adds a low G# and low E. People do different things with 12-string C6th. I add D strings in between the C's and E's. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

Thanks Bob. It's a lot more interesting than the 12-string in my avatar. And undoubtedly better sounding. Actually, I've never seen that banjo. I bought it as an investment and had it sent to a friend. A 12-string banjo is just too weird even for me, a guy who grew up hearing the Sacramento Banjo Band. |

I've often wondered about that with 12-stringers |

I don't know about the Sho-Bud. My Williams D-12 actually has wider string spacing than a standard Williams D-10. It was a custom order because I wanted to match my Sierra S-12. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

I have a MSA-D-12 and a Emmons push pull D-12. The spacing feels the same to me. I have no problem going from one to the other.......Jack _________________ MSA D-12-8x5,Emmons D-12 Push Pull-9x8, Evans 500,Peavey Nashville 112,Dobro,Banjo, Fender Strat,Misc. pedals and etc: |

As I remember it from Sho-Bud, anything above 8-str. dropped from 3/8” spacing to 11/32” spacing over the Bridge and 5/16” to 9/32” over the Nut. Personally, I never owned above a 10-str., only 8, 9 and 10. _________________ <marquee> Go~Daddy~Go, (No), Go, It's your Break Time</marquee> L8R, jb
