Do we have anyone out there that played at the Nashville West Club, in El Monte, Calif.? I Played six-string there in the middle 70's and we had alot of steelers play there. As sit-in's and with different groups that came through. It was the frist time I saw Speedy in person. |

The memory is dim, but I recall I sat in there one night with Sharon Leighton, it was after John had passed on. I think Jerry McGee was the guitarist. I could be all mixed up though. Most of my El Monte gigs were at the Holiday II. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

I did some fill in's on occasion with Sammy Masters. I was on six string and Blackie Taylor was on steel. I did a steel gig there once but I can't remember who the lead player was........JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

I worked there for a couple of years in the mid 70's with Sharon Leighton and "Country Sunshine". Johnny Blankenship headed up the group which also included Ted Ginn on bass and Joe Solo on drums. _________________ GFI ULTRA D-10, EVANS, FENDER 2000 (WORN OUT) TWIN REVERB W/JBL'S, OLD 4-10 BASSMAN |

I used to play bass out there around 1980, for Jimmy Lester. John Noreen played steel. Great player. Last I knew he was in Nashville, but I don't know what he's doing. |

I worked with her some on Mondays at the old Swizzle Stik in Huntington Beach. What did she die from?....JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

Hey Jerry,Judy Rose died many years ago before her mother Pasty! Judy died from the big " C ",Cancer. You know I keep forgetting how old we are,That why I keep saying the late! I know sooner or later I'll be reading about me. That's why I'm never late in anything I do. I truly understand now what Cliffie Stnoe was saying to me years ago. His famous lines to me. Listen you little hardass you're the only one in this neighbobhood who can keep things going for us when we are all gone. The power house neighborhood let's make a deal! Bill Boyd,Ron Martin,Gene Weed,Cliffie Stone,Buck Owens,Gene Autry,Nudie,Gene Bear,Don Hillman and so many more. Leo J.Eiffert,Jr. |
