Hi All,
Here is the live video version I did last night.
Hope you like it.

My wife and I are going on a 7 days cruise to Alaska this Thursday.
Really excited to take a break away from work and from ... L.A.
Blessings,
Abel

Glad you liked it Bo,
Actually I never heard or listened to Les Paul before Dick Dale asked me the same question.
I really always thought of Les Paul as a brand guitar name, and it's only after Dick Dale told me (about 2 years ago) that I discovered the incredible innovations he did in matter of guitar, echo, recordings etc.
For "San Antonio Rose", my friend "Otis Grand" a long time professional UK Blues singer / player (in the original blues style) but with a big band, asked me to play "San Antonio Rose" for him after he sent me the Youtube version by Neil LeVang and Buddy Merrill: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VO08ZKcsag
Actually I had the BT ready with my guitar harmonies for a video, but it was too late and in order not to forget the licks I created, I recorded one take. It came out not too bad, so I decided to make an audio file.
Regards,
Abel |

I have to throw a penalty flag for your wearing of a Gibson shirt and playing a Fender Strat!!! LOL
Nice job, maybe we can get together and jam sometime.

I really find that strange that someone of your age never knew or heard of Les Paul until two years ago. Wow!
I knew of Les Paul before I even starting playing guitar back in the 50's.
Anyway nice playing on that strat. |

Glad you liked it,
Jim,
Indeed a Gibson sound would have been more suited to the tune. To make up for it, I wore my Gibson shirt.
I would love to play next to you inspired by that nice sound and technique of yours.
Don,
I never heard of Dick Dale either. The reason being that I grew up in a Country where I was exposed to extremely few performances by international artists besides Elvis, Little Richard, Bill Haley, Jimmy Smith, and the Shadows, Jerry Lee Lewis.
Then I totally disconnected with guitar and music altoghether from 1970 until ...2000. You can say that even my playing is frozen in time.
Now I am discovering all these treasures a bit late.
This interview on my website will tell you more about my background and story if you have time:

Hope there will be a steel player on my cruise.
