I'm well out of the bluegrass world so I guess Sierra Hull may simply be yet another train I've managed to miss while she's been hiding in plain sight.
Maybe the rest of you are well aware of her but I just stumbled onto her by chance and WOW! Though she's primarily a mandolin player and singer, here she is dabbling a bit on the guitar (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNpVvDXktQY). Seems to be not only be a great player with a wonderful voice but, by all appearances, a great down-to-earth kid as well. |

Bluegrass has a way of doing that to people.
Bob Hickish first posted this clip last August. It's still a good 'un, though! |

There is a feature article on her in the current (June) issue of Bluegrass Unlimited. Her new CD is produced by Ron Block of Alison Kraus band. The
article can probably be viewed online at

Saw Sierra 7 years ago, at IBMA. WHEW!
And Ron Berrgren used to play with Larry Sparks. He may be grown, but he ain't no slouch! |
