What pickup do you guys like best. I'v been trying my Tonealighner. So far i think i like the 10-1 geo-L I'v only tried these two so far.

| My uni came with a Truetone. Sounds fantastic. I got a Lawrence 912 in case I ever need a humbucker. It sounds okay, but doesn't have the depth and sparkle of the Truetone, and I haven't had to use it much. I'm thinking of getting something wound a little lighter, like the old Fenders, just to have a variety of sounds. |

FWIW
I play a Milly Universal M3. THe 12 string version of the Tone Aligner has not made its way to me yet.
My choice, all around for studio and live is the 12-1. The E66 is too bright for my ears, the True Tone is great when the hum from the single coil is low. I have listened to the Tone Aligners on a new MSA D10 Studio Pro (wood and lacquer). The Tone Aligners would be my choice.

Like Jim Cohen, I find the differences to be very slight between all those I've tried. I use the E66 or BL710 most of the time, but a few knob tweaks can make all the ones I have sound almost identical. I'm able to get far more tonal variation from amp-setting changes, and from different right hand technique, than I get from a pickup change.
A steel that lets you change pickups in 10 seconds really opens up your eyes as to how similar-sounding most pickups really are! |

Gary, the Bl 710s and XR-16s are my favorites in my guitar. I also have a set of TW GeorgeLs that are a might bright and a set of truetones that allow way to much noise / humm for my taste. I have used Lawrence humbuckers for a lot of years so probably my ears are spoiled to the string seperation and individual note clarity. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it

I have the stock 12 string pickup, and a true tone. But I tried a Tone Aligner and like that better than either of the others.
I had a EMG active pickup made, and it has far more presence and volume than any other pickup I've ever tried, but it is not compatible with the POD or the Match-bro, and overdrives them and distorts the signal horribly. It can only be used by itself, with no stomp boxes or effects. By itself, it sounds fine.
Here are some pictures of the pickup and the power supply/tone control box for it.
Since I use a POD, I can't use this pickup, and would be happy to sell it.

Yes Ron. Jin Palenscar has one in his Legend. That's the one I tried out in my Milly. I think he may have one for sale in his shop. If he doesn't, he can get one.

I was to get the first 12 string Tonealigner, but it was taking too long and I(like a mug) cancelled and took a 12-1 instead. Pretty happy with it, though.
