I have just received the video and played it through.
It`s very good and professionally done.

Being a Jay Dee fan for years this is perfect for me!

Every teaching video should have tablature to it. I have tabbed out every video I have and it`s quite a bit of work. The JD video comes with tabalture so Jay Dee already has done that work for you.

Jay Dee takes you through the most popular Desert Rose Band songs and showing you how to do it.

The video are a must for all!!.

I think Jay Dee`s approach are very good and perfect in situations were you need to cut through in a loud band.

That `68 Push-pull don`t hurt your eyes either.

Strongly agree!

I just watched it, Steel-less.

The tab book is full size, another plus.

The only improvement that I'd like is:
Show his feet! The angles only show the upper half of his body.

Still a great tape. It has his classic solos, some road stories, and some hot licks.

Just got my copy today and finished watching it for the second time and It is a treasure on a super fine picker that I have had enjoyed since I first him with Tony Booth in the 60s. This is a must for anyone that loves this instrument and Jay Dee's one-of-kind style

I filled out the order form, every little field, leaving the part empty where it indicates that you don't have to fill it out if there's no difference between the credit card info and the shipping info.

I hit 'submit' and it quite unelegantly told me that I can't leave a bunch of fields blank--the very ones it indicated could be left blank--and said it couldn't process my order. Sorry, anonymous nobody potential customer. You're SOL.

I couldn't go back to anything but a bunch of blank fields and start over.

I decided I'd order when I either have more patience than I do right now, or when they fix the pitifully poor design.

I heard from Jay Dee's web guy yesterday and the problem has been reported fixed. Also heard from Jay Dee. Very cool. If I hadn't have been up all night, I'd order it right now.

Are there any runs and licks on the video, or just complete solos?

How about Tone Talk? Anything regarding amps & settings and how Jay Dee gets his unique sound? I'm checking the mail every day...

I played thru his rig years ago. As I recall, I played a set through his two Twin Reverb setup with his settings and using my Emmons, and it seems I actually played his Emmons through it once. Damndest thing happened, though. I didn't sound like him.

I know that the equipment setup info is useful, though, at least in eliminating that as a reason that you're not getting the sound, and maybe getting a little closer to it.

Jay Dee is a great player and one of my top favorites. I can hardly wait to see what the video has in store. I did order it today with no problem.

Listening to Jay Dee playing live a few years back is one of the main reasons for buying a P/P. Finally got the sound in my head to my hands!

Thanks again for the great feedback on the video. We did spend some time dicussing how JayDee gets his "signature" sound on the video but he does have a number of other little tricks that we might delve into if we do Volume 2. For quite awhile JayDee has been playing through 2 Evans amplifiers.

for some reason I can't open up this website, it seems to get stuck in a series of reloadings or something, is there any other way to purchase this video?

Hello Jim Palenscar
This video is great. I've been having a ball working on some of my favorite Jay Dee chops. The problem is, I haven't seen my family the last few nights.

During your interview with Jay Dee, he is playing some great sounding steel that everyone should hear.

Also, What is the song Jay Dee is playing during the opening credits? (Not Misty). That would be a great piece to put on Volume II with included tabs. Please reserve me a copy of Volume II

Thanks for the nice comments (again). We opened the video with a bit of "Misty" and then JayDee played over a rhythm track for "Little Liza Jane" which really highlights and captures the essence of his style when playing uptempo tunes. I've got a great story about not seeing my family when we did the first day of the shoot (anyone ever been 3 hours late for dinner when you're 'sposed to be the cook and, after having so much fun, forgotten to call home?)
Anyway- all has been forgiven and we're in the initial stages of talkin' about #2~~ thanks for the interest~~~

Man am I glad, I have finally been able to discover the secret to Jay Dee's style through this video. I am so pleased that I have this video. I recorded the video on to a cassette,so I can rewind the cassette so I don't wear out the video. This IMHO is a must have course for anyone who appreciates the true personal style of one of the absolute masters of this era of steel guitar. I have most of the Desert Rose CD's and Tony Booth's as well. I am inspired again to learn more of this style . I first met Jay Dee when he was at the Palomino Club when he was playing with Al Bruno. Thanks to all who convinced Jay Dee to share with us his heart. Jay Dee, I hope you prosper well from this financial endever. Thanks again.
