Going to Dallas-Fort Worth on Memorial weekend. I'm looking for some of that great Texas music loaded with Steel Guitar and Fiddle. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I found Jake Hooker and the Outsiders playing Pearl's on Friday but am having a hard time finding anything else. I've never been there before and I'm excited to experience the Dallas music scene. Your help is appreciated.
Thanks, Kim |

If you like fiddle and steel and shuffle beat music, you are going to love Jake Hooker. |

Dude — what about Gary Carpenter the next two nights at P Earl's? If you haven't heard him live, you kind of haven't heard him, imo. That band is sort of an all star unit, and Chad's rich baritone could crack a foundation (in a good way . . . if that's possible.) Strong all around. |

Check out Pearl's Dance Hall in Ft. Worth. Stockyards district. Check the web. The patrons at Pearl's love fiddle and steel.

Check Johnny High's Country Music theater in downtown Arlington. |

Pearls in Fort Worth is the place that weekend. The Insiders with Gary Carpenter on Steel and Reggie Reuffer on fiddle who is Charlie Prides fiddle player on the 24th. On the 25th it is the Insiders with Fiddlin Frenchie Burke. Can'nt beat that for Steel and Fiddle playing if that's what your looking for. Chad and Reggie are great singers too. |
