It's over and you missed it...
We had a great jam in Sanford yesterday. There was every kind of steel in the world and folks who could make em talk. The back up band was on the mark and the whole program flowed nicely.Del Shorts did double duty on the lead guitar and we appreciate that. Jaxie Hartman did her usual outstanding job on the bass and we had numerous drummers who were very good. The highlight for me was the performance of our four lady pickers. It was obvious that they are working hard to be as good as they can be. Their song selection was good and it was nice to listen too. Thanks to Marily Myers for letting me sing on her set. I won't try and name all the players as I don't have a list and wouldn't want to leave anyone off. Bobby Wright did a great set even as he is recovering from surgery. Thanks to Danny ,Regina, Marilyn and to the Eagles for providing us with a great venue to play. The food was great the prices were reasonabl and everyone had a great time...nuff said..

Anyone hear anything from Bob Cole? It's been a long time since I heard from him. I know he has a lot of medical problems but probably still playing that Marlen. |

Bud-I am sorry that I missed the jam and appreciate your thoughts. As you know , my wife is 90% blind and I can go 25 or 50 miles to a jam and be back in a short time. Be looking to see you again. Where is Rapid City? I cant find it on my small map.
Jack-I was also wondering about Bob Cole and how he is. I used to live around there and played all over Northern Michigan. We used to call it "God's Country"...al. _________________ Michigan (MSGC)Christmas Dinner and Jam on my 80th Birthday.

Bud, Thanks. I knew he lived way up north in Indian River. I used to get e-mails from him but haven't had any for quite a while. I've sent him e-mails but not response. Last time I checked his web site was still up. |
