I thought Larry did a great job with some old country standards. Too bad his CD's are no longer available.

I've yet to reply about any of the acts I saw in St. Louis, but I have to comment on this.
If there's one thing I love to hear, it's an instrumentalist with an intimate knowledge of the history of his instrument, and the genre. If anyone lived up to that expectation at St. Louis, it was Mr. Sasser.
There were moments he sounded like BE, then seconds later there would be a Lloyd-like lick, complete with suitable embellishments. Then there would be a flash of Jimmy Day, following by a stunning John Hughey vibrato, way up the neck.
All in all, I guess you'd have to say, he sounded just like Larry Sasser.
I thought it was very cool
