Tony Booth's new CD is out and I wanted to take the opportunity to let everyone know. Here's who's on it:

Johnny Cox: Steel
Jake Hooker: Upright Bass
Fiddle: Reggie Rueffer
Guitar: Randy Korner
Drums: Jim Loessberg
Rhythm and Harmony Vocals: Justin Trevino

Johnny played the Shobud on this CD. I have nearly worn this CD out,and I haven't had it that long. Tony sounds incredible..it is the kind of music we don't get to hear nowadays, but Tony is keeping it alive and well. It includes Cinderella, Lonesome 77203, and Keys In The Mailbox, along with several others which will become favorites. Johnny said he and Randy did most all the twin parts on the first pass. I can't wait to hear the next one.
Very Happy Joan Cox

Calm down, Joanie, and tell us where we can get one. With Johnny and Randy pickin' and Tony and Justin singing it has got to be good. Jody.

Thanks, Joan for that alert. I'm looking for my copy right now and mainly for one reason --"That ShoBud Permanent and Johnny was the best sound at the Dallas show hands down" IMHO. Smile

Thanks for the heads up. I just bought the album. Tony Booth played at the Palamino Club back when I lived in So. Calif a few blocks from the Pal. It seemed like it was a long time I was too young to get in so I had to listen from the sidewalk by the door. Man that was a long time ago.

Joan, thanks for the info on the new CD. It'll be great hearing Tony again, is he doing any touring outside of Texas?

Do you know if Randy has anything in the works? Sometimes it's forgotten what a great voice he has. When I lived in SoCal they used to play a recording of his called "My Conscience Feels Guilty, and Sometimes I Talk in my Sleep". What a great tune! And his great guitar work on Frenchie Burke's albums....JH in Va.

Well,

Who said real country music is gone?

The entire album is one of the best ever. I just down loaded this great collection from iTunes. It is on my iPOD now, so I can listen to the real deal!

Update/addition to my previous post.
Justin Trevino has got the sound distilled down to the essence on this and everything else he produces. It's just "modern" enough for everything to be clear and accurate without sacrificing the feel of an older era of recording. The playing and singing are superb. It's a little reminder for how this kind of music should be performed and recorded.
