Serious need to thin the herd, I've accumulated too many instruments, and need to focus on those that I really do play. This is one of George Piburn's beauties, and it plays as good as it looks, perfect in every way. African ribbon mahogany, a dream to play, and the tone and quality that you would expect from one of the very best Georgeboards. Comes with custom built case, the price is $2,500.00, and I will ship to US zip codes. Thanks for taking the time to look, and please email me with any questions, or call my cell, (208-867-5062) many thanks, Michael

Good to hear from you! It is a great instrument, but I find my self spending all of my time with the Benoit or the Beard....give me a call when you have a free evening, we need to get together and compare notes. (The ones up and down the necks of some of these instruments we collect) I've been working on a couple of things in the 6 string G6 tuning lately.

Posted 12 May 2008 12:57 pm Extremely good price on a very rare instrument--------------
|
|
The Insurance value of this instrument is $5500.00usd
Michael is letting it go for 1/2 it's value.
Instant collectors item.
There were only 2 of these steels made in this wood choice and Koa Trim , I got in Maui. The Kahya African Ribbon Mahogany is from PreKatrina stock and can no longer be purchased. These were extra select clear planks before the milling process.
I only have 4 more D8's to be made forever.
Inflation has more than doubled the raw material costs.
To get this quality and rareity of a New instrument would drive the final cost to over 6 grand!
Fortunately I am selling my instruments at 2004-5 prices, and Michael has discounted this Art Object to way below that.

Hello, George, and thanks for the post. I hate to let this beauty go--I do have a few too many instruments, and a daughter in tough divorce situation that prompts me to make some changes in my collection, although I may end up keeping it, that would certainly be my first preference. In any event, I'll always keep my Relic.
