This model must have been a short run,I don't see many around.Kinda looks like a New Yorker,I think.Maybe it was ment for space travel.
There are some very small inperfections in the finish and a small spot that looks like a cigarette burn.All original.Sounds great.The tone pot is kinda funky.I think a wire might be lose on the cap.
It's a 1957 mod.ser no.X78707..
This little jewell got a lot of attention when I took it out on a gig.Probably because of the unique design.

Well, as a longtime owner of autographed sets of NASA portraits of the Mercury and Gemini astronauts, I can put my disappointment over being too slow aside in the face of this bit of poetic destiny.
I hope we see this on the International Space Station or planetary surface someday. (Getting a Gibson Atlas amp up to play it through may require a separate launch, though...) _________________ "Gopher, Everett?" |
