HELLO JIM,
you should be able to get your question answered by contacting Jeff Newman at: jeffran@jeffran.com or by calling Scotty's Music on Monday. 1-314-427-7794.

The answer is NO, Jim.
I've attended many at the ISGC.
I bring a notebook and tape recorder, but
that's not even required.
See you there.
PS Bunny Wallace and Barbara Rosetta plan a bus trip for the same time as the seminar.
My wife always enjoys it. |

Joey's right. Jeff's goal is to teach how to think on steel and, for many of us, as soon as we sit down at that contraption, our hands take over and start doing what they already know how to do, so that thinking takes a backseat to noodling and it's much harder to make progress. |

I saw one of Jeff's flyers earlier this year and I believe he did encourage bringing your steel to his current seminar although he said it wasn't required. |

I emailed Jeff and he replied.......
"You can do either one, but it really is better if you don't bring your steel. Some will, but most don't. You can learn more and work on all this stuff later at your own speed if you don't have a guitar there to distract you. Some folks are only comfortable with a guitar to hide behind..too bad. Jn "
