There were 2 great versions of the classic BOOT HEEL DRAG performed at the TSGA Non Pedal Session in Dallas last month.
One was by its originator - the legendary Herb Remington: BOOT HEEL DRAG
and the other was by the multi-talented Carco Clave: BOOT HEEL DRAG _________________

Rick
Do you happen to know what tuning Carco was using?
Low to high would be fine if you have it.

Don, Carco uses a slightly modified C6 tuning.
lo2hi - C F G C E G A C E D
Someone was asking what kind of guitar he was playing.
It's the second of two guitars he built himself - originally to play on the bus when he was touring with Asleep At The Wheel.
The body is oak, and the pickup is a Bill Lawrence 606 humbucking.
Carco and Renae' Truex will be back at the TSGA Jamboree next year - tearing it up in the Peavey Room, and they will be performing at the Non Pedal Session. They will also be with Peavey at the ISGC in St Louis this August.
So we're looking forward to more great jammin'!
Incidentally, Herb retunes to C#m7 for BOOT HEEL DRAG.
He was playing a black S-8 Remington Steelmaster. |
