Howdy Don from North Carolina.Where is Mercer Pa. If it is'nt to far We may take the trip up.I 'm in contact with Skip Mertz who is from Allentown Pa. and Ray Walker who is from I guess the western part of Pa.I see Ray a couple times a week. And Skip a couple times a month.Skip is a good steel player and Ray started in December and he does a nice job of playing in a short time.He played Reg. Guitar for forty years that is why he picked it up so fast.OK let me know where Mercer is.
Thank you
Sam White

Don, Thanks for posting the Herby Show for us on the forum. I think Herby will forgive you for saying he's from Nashville but we all know it's still Tenn. Everyone is welcome. The event is being sponsored by the Allegheny Steel Guitar Association. The schedule has been set up for the day. Herby will play an hour around 2 PM and then again at 7 PM to close out the day. The open jam starts at noon, with 2 sets then Herby. Then more open jam 'till 7 o'clock. There will be good food available all day right there at the jam. Don't be shy, bring your steel and join in on the fun.
Mercer, PA is located on US 19 near the junction of I 79 and I 80 in northwestern PA about 60 miles north of Pittsburgh. For those traveling long distances there is a Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge right at the Rt 19 & I 80 exit which is just a mile south of town. Going north on 19 turn left at Sheetz go to the second street, Shenango St. (Rt 158) turn left. Brandy Springs Community Center is about a half mile on the right. It's a blue building with signs out front. Very easy to get to, and lots of parking. Need more info, email me and I'll try to help as much as possible.

Joe, Glad to hear that you're going to make the show. I guess the 4 hour drive isn't going to keep you from enjoying it. See you there.

Hi Jim:
yes sir !!!! Although I'll be getting home around 5:30 Sat. morning, load my equipment, and do a quick turn around, it sure is going to be alot of fun and I know some fantastic playin as well. as for the four hr drive,,thats why I'm sweet talkin the bride into doing some of the driving. a couple of hours of shut-eye should hold me over. ALSO,I had to run to "Billy Coopers over the weekend and he has another CD out, "born to loose". a follow up to the "A-11" CD. and as usual, superb to say the least, and the tab and finger exercise's are fantastic. see ya next weekend. God Bless

In Case you all haven't heard, Herby is also bringing a special guest with him to the show at Mercer next Sunday. Duane Dee will be with him singing songs from the new CD they just made together of all the good old Ray Price songs that steel players love so much. Way to go Herby. Can't wait. Can it get any better?

Coming down to the last week before the Jam at Mercer and it looks like things are falling into place very well. We have some great staff musicians lined up, and from what I've been told the food is going to be pretty good too. Don't miss this one.
