IVE TALKED TO A LOT OF PLAYERS THAT USE GLASS BARS ARE THEY AS GOOD AS THEY SAY THEY SAY THEY ARE OR IS THIS A INDIVIDUAL THING I NOW USE BJS SEEMS TO WORK OK FOR ME WOULD LIKE TO TO HAVE SOOM OPENIONS ON THIS AND IF THEY ARE THAT GOOD WHERE TO PURCHAS ONE.

I bought some glass bars from Gary and Jeff Boyette of Boyettes's Glass Bars about 6 months ago.
The tone and sustain are good and these old dry hands can hold on to them much better. The bars are very slick and slide well on the strings. For some reason they stick to your hands much better I think than steel. They are made of Pyrex glass.
If you go to google and "Boyettes Glass Bars" you can find their website.
I like mine and use them exclusively.

THANKS DANNY I WILL CHECK IT OUT.IVE ONLY BEEN PLAYING FOR 3YRS.BUT LEARNING NEW THINGS ALL THE TIME GOT A LONG WAY TO GO. PLAYING A GFI SD10. BUT ORDERED ME A XTREME BY JACKSON STEEL CANT WAIT TO GET IT.

| Ronnie, I also purchased a Boyett's glass bar (in addition to a BJS and one of the black rajah type bars). I find it to have a slightly more mellow tone than the other bars I own. Good for jazz I would think (not that I can play it!). The folks there are also very nice. |

The Boyett bars are a great product, but the "Cadillac bars" are the leaded crystal bars from Diamond Bottleneck in England:

They can do any shape or length you like, but they do production runs in batches so if they don't have exactly what you want you have to ask, and it'll get done in the next run. |

| I have the clear one with the silver flakes in it and I love it. The folks across the pond were a pleasure to do business with. Faster delivery than I get in the states in many cases. |

I have a Boyett bar, model filled with the lead, I use it quite a bit, especially with blues type stuff. The glass gives a different quality to the tone, and works especially well with some distortion (ala Derek Trucks and Duane Allman) IMO.
