Bent: Thanks so much for allowing us to watch and listen to my gal, Barbara, playing that Dobro; sensational, man; this gal can play both the Dobro and steel so great; I loved her version of Steel Guitar Rag; Love to hear it played on the C6th.. neck. I , personally, always did it on my E-9th neck. But this girl is surely an all around musician and SINGER. I miss seeing her on the stage performing, don't the rest of you forumites feel the same about Barbara..?? Bernie, I, for one, feel the way you do about Barbara. Not only is she a great singer and a wonderful person but she is a super singer, and, of course, a top-notch steel player.
In the same vein, I would like to remind everybody that she learned to play steel from none other than Norman Hamlet. A footnote to that story is that Norm also taught her pick-blocking...way before modern-day pick-blocking was universally thought of! |
