David. The Transfex Pro 212 was not designed as a "steel guitar amp" (although I suppose one could use it for that with limitations) however, this amp was primarily designed as a 6-string guitar amplifier. This amp is not being offered anymore from Peavey, but was indeed a great amplifier!
However, Peavey built an amplifier specifically for steel guitar called the Session 2000. This amp was simular to the Transfex Pro, and it featured a 300 watt switch mode amplifier, a 15" Black Widow speaker, and built in programable settings designed for the steel guitar. This amp was also capable of running in true stereo mode with the addition of a powered speaker. Peavey also made one of these called the PX 300. |
