Tonight I was trying to secure the speaker wire to the speaker (Eminence 'Steel king' Commonwealth) with pliers, and on through the speaker cone and grill cloth went the pliers. This has just ruined my night.

The speaker is ruined, and the grill cloth is ripped pretty badly. It's so sad what can happen in the blink of an eye. A perfectly good amplifier wounded in a flash.

I wasn't too crazy about the speaker anyway. It constantly crapped out on the low end. I was really wondering how hard it is to obtain and install a new grill cloth for this amp. Any help would be appreciated.

I will be offline until tomorrow afternoon, as I'm waiting for internet service to be hooked up in my new home.

That old style cloth can be bought from Mojotone. It is called fender Black and it's a ringer for the Peaevy cloth of that era! The picture there is not good. It is the closet or almost exact you can find!
