Does anyone know for sure what ever became of Winnie Winston's S-12 Uni guitar---"the Steel"? He used it on many of his recordings and it was literally built by him. It's a piece of steel guitar history for sure. Just wondered what ever happened to it since his untimely demise.

Thanks, Mike. That guitar is such a piece of steel guitar history and evolution, I just had hoped that it didn't wind up as $3.00 item at someone's garage sale.

Hi Paul I know Winnie ended up in New Zealand when he married so you could try asking Paddy Long being a native.Theres also some information at www.brissteelguitar.com with an email adress to his wife.Dont know if thats helpful. Also if not send them an email someone there may know as they had some to do with Winnie in later years and Ruth and the folks there have always been most accomadating to me.Cheers |

HI Paul - sorry I can't help you with the whereabouts of "The Steel" ...the last few times Winnie visited with me he had his Kline with him, I never ever thought to ask him about that old axe. |
