I bought a rack system that has a PV DPC-1000 in it. Problem is the sound of the fan drives me crazy. I am running 2 15" BW cabs and would like to know what some of the single space amp options are that don't have a fan, yet big enough to give me all I want for power? Also what about single spacve tube amps?
Thanks guys,
Pat |

Stewart PA200 (I believe I'm right on the model) are a half rack space and put out 200w at 4 ohms. You can get 2 of them and still use ONE rack space and have 400 watts. A little less power if you use 8 ohms.I believe they cut down to 180 watts at 8 ohms. Still a lot of power in a small light weight package.I think they weigh about 5 lbs. They have no fan and are very quiet. I saw a couple for sale on this forum not long ago. |

The Peavey fans are high volume air fans and do make some noise. However, on stage you don't hear it.
I bought a used DPC 1000 power amp and thought the fan was noisy so I ordered a new one from Peavey and installed it. Sounded the same.
I broke up and sold my rack system last year and when I advertised the DPC 1000 on the forum for sale I made a special point of noting the fan noise. |
